True to her namesake, Isabel is a soft, rich, yet bold pinot noir, delivering integrated layers of flavors including plum, cassis, caramel, and a hint of white pepper. Delicious with sturgeon or fatty salmon.
Our priorities are simple: care for the land, make exceptional wine, and enjoy life’s journey. We support these goals by generating renewable energy, and farming sustainably to protect the ecosystem in the vineyard, surrounding creeks, and woodlands. In 2014, the grapes were harvested on September 22, and the wine was aged in French oak before bottling.
This barrel selection honors Mark’s grandmother Isabel, who homesteaded on the plains of North Dakota, was a school teacher, wife, mother, renowned cook, and award-winning pie maker. The proceeds from her three-acre vegetable garden saved the family farm during the Great Depression and paid college tuition for Mark’s mother and uncle.
