Sustainable Farm

Bjornson Vineyard is part of a scenic 107-acre parcel comprised of forest, field and stream. We are committed to being responsible stewards of this property, and we support this charge by employing Certified-Sustainable farming practices that promote and protect the natural ecosystem in the the vineyard, as well as in the surrounding creeks and woodlands. Our forest is managed under a Conservation Stewardship Program, and we maintain a wide buffer-zone alongside the streams that flow through our farm. In keeping with our sustainable philosophy, we have installed a 10 kW wind turbine to supply electricity for Bjornson Vineyard.  A wide variety of wildlife visit and live on our property including, beavers, deer, porcupine, elk, coyote, bald eagles, kestrels, hawks, and even an occasional bear or mountain lion!

Location, Location, Location

On our first visit to the property, we fell in love with its beautiful combination of vistas, woodlands and streams.  We would have purchased it regardless of its “famous neighbors”, but with a goal of making Pinot Noir, it helped knowing that our farm borders Seven Springs Vineyard (leased by Evening Land Vineyards, which was recently awarded the highest score of any Pinot Noir among Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines). Other close neighbors include Argyle’s Lone Star Vineyard, Bethel Heights Vineyard, Cristom Vineyards, St. Innocent Winery, Temperance Hill Vineyard and Witness Tree Vineyard – all of which consistently rank among Oregon’s most acclaimed vineyards and wineries.
